Classic Recreations GT500CR 900C Is A Classic With Modern Power
Several years ago, we talked about a very cool Shelby GT500 from Classic Recreations. The car we talked about then looked exactly like the car we’re going to talk about today, but they’re different models. The one from three years ago was a 900S model, and the one we’re looking at today is a GT500 CR900C. The significant difference between the two cars is the power plant with the 900S packing a 427 cubic-inch V8. A Classic Recreations GT500CR 900C, on the other hand, has a Coyote 32-valve Aluminator V8.
That Aluminator V8 under the hood of the Classic Recreations GT500CR 900C is also fitted with a Roush supercharger with a pulley upgrade. The engine is attached to a Tremec TKO 600 manual transmission that sends power to a nine-inch Fab 9 rear fitted with 3.70 gears and Posi Traction. The car features custom rack and pinion steering and a Flaming River tilt steering column.
Inside the car are Carroll Shelby Scat Rally series 1000 seats fitted with G-Force racing harnesses and white-faced Carroll Shelby signature gauges. Old Air Products air conditioning keeps driver and passengers cool, and the car is fitted with the deluxe 1967 door panels, dash, and trim. A custom center console and floor mats are also added.
Other features include Shelby 427 wheels front and rear fitted with Michelin Z rated tires, sequential taillights, special GT500CR emblems, and authentic Carroll Shelby fiberglass bits on the outside. Classic Recreations fits the car with a custom fueling system, six-piston Wilwood brakes front and rear, custom exhaust, high-end cooling system, and independent front coil-over suspension.
